The Ghost Of Madame Sherri
Madame Sherri (1878-1965), once lived in a beautiful "castle" that she had built in West Chesterfield, N.H. soon after moving to N.H. from N.Y. in 1929. She was considered to be quite an eccentric who loved to throw lavish parties at her estate and drive about in her '27 Packard wearing nothing but a fur coat!
Sadly, after much neglect, her castle burned to the ground in October 1962, almost exactly three years before her death. It is said that her ghost can sometimes be seen on the stairs of the ruins.
The ruins can still be seen and visited. They are surrounded by
forest and lovely walking trails.
Great spot for picnicking or a moonlight stroll!
